Kindness

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

‘Kill it with kindness’ is a phrase we try to live by at FPB…

We often talk about how important it is for your own wellbeing to be kind to yourself. Self-care, resting, exercise, doing things that make you happy and overcoming those little gremlins of self-doubt are all the first crucial steps to living a life that makes you sparkle. But we also need to remember that our actions have consequences for ourselves and for those around us, and it’s equally important to be kind to others.

Showing someone kindness and compassion when they most need it isn’t about being weak or a pushover, it’s about strongly believing the best in people and expecting nothing back in return. We’re all flawed, we all make mistakes, we all have bad days and sometimes it’s easier to resort to a knee-jerk reaction of anger or irritation, but why not take a step back and find a way to deal with a person or situation in the kindest possible way?

By allowing someone’s problem to get the better of you, taking it personally or responding in an equally angry way, you ultimately give them control of the situation and things can escalate pretty quickly. When you kill it with kindness you retain control, you’re not made to feel small and you can find solutions effectively… we think it’s definitely worth a try.
